Euclid Street Airbnb Reno Update Week 8 & 9

One skip and a hop away from floors! We have slowed down a bit, enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday, took some time to realize how lucky we are. Deep breath. Okay let’s go. We painted a lot of pipes (it seems like they never end, so many pipes) finished up trim in the bathroom, added decorative trim on the shelving in the back room, finally fully assembled the floating shelves, dry-walled the stairwell, patched some other areas, scraped off the ancient vinyl daises off a window in the front (thank god for the heat gun), added pavers in the back yard to make a walkway, and painted the stairs going up. The good new is, I think we are done with big paint items! No more paint flecks on my glasses and false alarm white hairs. We gave the basement a good once over and got all of the tools organized and off the floor, getting it all prepped to lay down some bamboo. I also went through tax code for airbnb with my sis Alyss (conveniently an accountant) and she helped clarify the situation. I will try to post a summary on those as well (I’m sure you are all on the edge of your seat)

A few steps closer.. Kasey did a nice job with the stepping stones
Ahhh. Does this stress you out? Good thing this is the before. Notice the pipes in this picture before you scroll down.
Oh so much white! It feels much brighter. I just noticed it kind of feels like a submarine in this picture. Hopefully further decorating can help us “steer clear” of submarine vibes (did I Dad joke that properly?)
Some more shelves! Trimmed out and ready to hold some chotskies, towels and maybe a good book or two. This is in the back room by the bathroom.
Here are the finally assembled floating shelves! Lessons learned on this one, the mitered edged looks nice and makes it looks like solid wood, but is heck-a-hard to line everything up. We needed, like, a bajillion more clamps. Having only 4 clamps to assemble these shelves made it slow going while we waited for glue to dry. Also notice the b-e-a-utiful faucet! I totally just propped it up so y’all could take a peek. The water will get hooked up once the floor is in.
